A Very Dubilicious Christmas

Things that Don't Suck, General Shenanigans December 25, 2011 12:20 AM 0 comments

This Year's Card As many folks know - it has been a year of mixed emotions for my family. Literally the highest highs and the lowest of lows. I had a feeling Christmas was going to be a bit of a struggle this year. But I made the best of it. And as I sit here in a house full of empty rooms and watch the clock roll over to midnight - I have only you, Internet, to turn to and say "Merry Christmas". Which is ok...

The Three Trees Even through the issues - I am truly blessed. It helps that I have great kids. The card above I built from a stock photo and is what Noah and I sent out as our Christmas card this year. We decided not to drag out the big tree this year, so I put up these little ones instead. Not full on festive, but it is enough.

The Big Sis and Lil Sis Bracelets After the separation, I made the decision that I needed to reach out to the girls and mend the fences with them. We had some good back and forth, and I feel really good about the direction we are heading there. I went a bit over the top with the girl's presents. I wanted something special for them, and be able to feel that we were connected. In the end I chose to make these bracelets. They are sterling silver...and are compatible with Pandora charms and beads. I picked each bead and charm for a reason. I wrapped them up with a explanation of why each bead and charm was chosen. The couldn't wait to open them, and each let me know how much the loved them.

So there it is officially Christmas...and while I am alone - I know that I am loved, and 2012 will be a great year.
